Stoehr said there will be more cars, musical entertainment and activities for car enthusiasts than what has been offered at previous shows at the 40th Street venue. Several celebrity vehicles, along with hundreds of new custom cars and bikes, some of which are not even on the roads yet, will be on display. Hip-hop star Nelly will have his DUB Edition Wide-body 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 featured as well. Ford will also debut the DUB Edition Ford Taurus SHO. There will be a custom car show competition with thousands of dollars in prizes as well as trophies awarded.
On the musical side, Grammy awardwinners, Three 6 Mafia, will perform on the main DUB concert stage and T-Pain will do a live deejay set. Show attendees will have the opportunity to meet and get autographs from actors and rappers Bow Bow and Brandon T. Jackson, stars of the new movie "Lottery Ticket," which hits theaters Aug. 20. Actress and model Jesse Layne will also be in attendance as will Breje, Ceazar, Lil Trouble, reggae band Live Wyya and the break-dancing group, Chi-Town Finest Breakers, to sign autographs and/or perform.
The Monster Energyhats Lounge will present deejays, custom vehicles, Gymkhana and action sports videos. Free samples of the new DUB Edition Monster Energy drink will be available as well.
The Xbox 360 Gaming Arcade booth will feature the new "Crackdown 2." Show attendees will have an opportunity to win the "Crackdown 2 Cruiser," a DUB Edition Custom Ford Mustang V6 covered in "Crackdown 2" graphics and with a game entertainment system included.
Other show activities include the 2K Sports MLB 2K10 Gaming Zone, Mobil 1 prize wheel and the Pirelli Girls signing autographs at the tire company's booth. Some of the vendors scheduled to be at the show include Pioneer, Scion Racing, Killer Kreations Bikes, Savini Wheels and DTLR urban fashions.
Although there will be performances, meet and greets and activities going on both days, Stoehr said the most "actionpacked" time will come Saturday afternoon and evening.
"By far, we've doubled what we've done before.
We have completely new cars, bigger artists than we've ever had before and more corporate displays than ever," Stoehr said. "There is more of everything and our goal is for everyone to have a great time at the event."
DUB Publishing, which produces the monthly DUB Magazine, debuted its first show tour in 2000, and it has become the most popular automotive custom car show and concert in the nation.
Show hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and include admission to all activities and concerts. For more information, visit www.4uhats.com.
The 2010 cheapMonster Energyhats DUB Show Tour, presented by Ford, has teamed up with Spark Productions LLC, promoters of the OC Car Shows, to host the largest automotive event ever held at the Ocean City convention center.
Brian Stoehr, one-third of Spark Productions with Brad Hoffman and Dave Bafford, said he had been working to get the "World's Largest Celebrity Car Show and Concert Series" to come to the resort for the past few years.
"Because of our success in the past, we have the opportunity to bring something new and exciting to Ocean City," Stoehr said. "Our goal is to always better what we did in the past and what better way to do that than by bringing the biggest tour of its kind to Ocean City. It's a 12-city tour in big market cities and Ocean City is one of those. That's what makes it exciting for us."
